Paddington Bear u2014 Gabrielle Designs Limited Edition, Signed by Michael Bond, No. 219 of 1000
A rare and significant piece of Paddington Bear collectible history. This limited edition bear was specially designed by Gabrielle Designs Ltd. - the original maker of the classic Paddington plush - exclusively for Hamleys of Regent Street, London's iconic toy shop. It is personally signed by Michael Bond, the creator of Paddington Bear, and numbered 219 of 1000. Approximately 20" tall.
The bear is presented in full classic regalia: red duffle coat with wooden toggle fastenings, blue felt hat, blue Wellington boots, and brown suitcase. Both original hang tags are present and attached - the Hamleys/Gabrielle Designs provenance card and the iconic "Darkest Peru to London, England via Paddington" luggage tag. The signature card features a photo of Michael Bond with the handwritten message "Please look after this VERY special bear," signed and numbered.
A donation of u00a31.50 from each bear's sale was designated for Action Research for the Crippled Child, as noted on the tag.
Overall condition appears very good with original tags intact.
